You may have heard that one of the United States’ most decorated Olympians was in the Washington, D.C., area, getting a street named after her and a day of celebration on Oct. 17, Katie Ledecky day.
She was also in town to share her story, which is available in her memoir, Just Add Water (review forthcoming).
At George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium, Jen Psaki interviewed Katie Ledecky about her life and Olympic career. There were questions at the end from some of the audience members. For me, this was a bucket list item. To see and hear from an Olympic swimmer or any Olympian really. I’m an Olympics nerd. I also hoped my daughter would be inspired by Katie’s story of family love and support and her drive to achieve her goals.
