Whenever I begin to write and find myself out of rhythm or wandering aimlessly I grab one of my favourite authors - someone so far beyond my ability like Joseph Brodsky or Eva Lipska and read their work. Great art always inspires me to sit down and create my own - sometimes a line or two from another writer will ignite the fire I need to sit down and work on my own.
